How E-Labus Works
Understanding how we access and protect your health data
What is E-Labus?
E-Labus is a personal health analytics platform that helps you understand your laboratory test results. By connecting to your electronic health records through industry-standard protocols, we retrieve your lab data and provide AI-powered insights, trend analysis, and personalized health recommendations.
E-Labus uses SMART on FHIR (Substitutable Medical Applications and Reusable Technologies on Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources) — the same secure, standardized technology that leading healthcare institutions use to share data safely between authorized applications.
Data We Access
When you connect E-Labus to your healthcare provider (such as Epic MyChart), we request access to the following specific data categories:
Laboratory Results
Your lab test results including blood work, metabolic panels, lipid panels, and other diagnostic tests. This allows us to analyze your biomarkers and track changes over time.
Patient Demographics
Basic information such as your name, date of birth, and biological sex. This helps us apply age and sex-appropriate reference ranges to your lab results.
Important: You explicitly authorize each connection. You can review exactly what data we will access before confirming, and you can revoke access at any time.
How the Connection Works
Connecting your health records is a secure, user-controlled process:
Initiate Connection
Navigate to Settings → Health Connections in your E-Labus account and select your healthcare provider.
Authenticate with Your Provider
You are securely redirected to your healthcare provider's portal (e.g., MyChart). E-Labus never sees your provider login credentials.
Review Permissions
Your provider displays exactly what data E-Labus is requesting. Review this information carefully before proceeding.
Approve or Deny
You choose whether to grant access. If you deny, no data is shared and you can try again later.
Data Syncs to E-Labus
Once approved, your lab results are securely transferred and you can view AI-powered insights within seconds.
How We Use Your Data
AI-Powered Health Insights
We analyze your lab results to provide trends, risk assessments, and personalized recommendations.
Longitudinal Tracking
We compare your results over time to help you and your doctor identify patterns and improvements.
We do NOT:
- Sell your data to third parties
- Use your data for advertising
- Share your data with anyone without your explicit consent
- Use your data for purposes other than providing our service
